3. What is the difference
between a RF and an IR remote control?
The IR remote is an InfraRed remote. Infrared is based on the "light" part of the electromagnetic spectrum
The RF remote is a Radio Frequency remote. Radio frequency is based on the "radio" section of the electromagnetic spectrum.
While the IR remote control requires direct aim to the receiver in order for the signal to be received, the RF remote control can be pointed in any direction to function as long as the signal is within range. Furthermore, the RF remote has a longer operational distance (up to 30’) than the IR remote (up to 15’).

10. How To Select the Right
Screen Material?
Screen material is made in a variety of shades and textures to accommodate the output qualities for all of the various DLP and LCD projectors on the market today. The idea is to create the right level of color reproduction while maintaining black level contrast. Since the projectors currently have various levels of light output and resolution, it is necessary to have a variety of materials that will be compatible with the different performance levels of screens currently on the market. Current improvements in projector technology have definitely helped simplify the process of screen material selection. Our knowledgeable staff at Elite Screens can help you find the compatible screen material for your projection needs.
Matte White / Tension
White Screen Material
The most versatile screen surface. It evenly distributes light over a wide viewing area, while colors remain bright and life-like, with no shifts in hue. This surface can be easily cleaned and is mildew resistant.
* Video / Movie mode when using DLP Projector
* Presentation / PC mode when using LCD or DLP Projector
High Contrast Gray
The Gray surface offers excellent resolution by enhancing the black level of LCD projected images while maintaining the consistency of whites and lighter colors in the picture. It performs well in some ambient light conditions with higher output projectors, but is recommended for use in an environment where ambient light is controlled.
* Best for LCD or low contrast ratio projectors.
* Best Application is for Home Theater Video / Movie viewing mode especially when using an LCD Projector.

13. How would I synchronize the up/down function of my electric screen with my projectors power cycle?
To ensure that your projector can support a trigger application, please be sure to:
a. Reviewing your projectors user manual.
b. Contact the manufacturer of your projector.
If you do find that your projector supports a trigger application, connect the Elite Electric Screen Trigger Adaptor cable from your Screen to your projectors trigger port (Please consult a professional installer for further details on wiring and installation). Since Elite Screens only provides the screen adaptor, you will need to contact your projectors manufacturer for the trigger adapter of the projector. Most projector manufacturer trigger ports use a mini jack plug and adaptor that may be obtained at most local electronics stores. Please consult with your dealer or projector manufacturer for further details concerning this trigger adaptor and installation.

14. How high should I hang the projector screen?
As a rule, it is recommended to ensure that the center of the screen is in alignment with the eye level of those seated in the first row of a graduated Home Theater seating layout. This will provide the best levels of ergonomic stability, and will not negatively affect the vantage point of the following rows as their increased distance from the screen will provide a comfortable viewing position as well. |

18. My manual pull-down screen appears to be stuck and does not want to retract, how do I get it to retract?
Keep in mind that the screen’s spring mechanism system is brand new and will therefore need to go be brought up and down a few times to allow the spring mechanism to loosen up. If this occurs, with a little bit of force carefully yank the screen by the handle straight down in a very quick manner to unlock the screen so it may retract. |
